Defending champions Chelsea manager Guus Hiddink has had his say on the future of goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Chelsea goalie was quoted in the Belgian media during the international break as saying he would be open to leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of the season.
Belgian star has since been linked with a £75million move to Barcelona, but Hiddink suggests his goalkeeper’s comments could have been mistranslated.
The Blues interim manager said: “I don’t know what he has said – I haven’t read it – but formally he is under contract and what I know from him is he and his family like to be in London and at the club.
“It is difficult to react to what has been said – yes or no – or has it been translated or mis-translated.
“I always like to give a comment when I’ve got an issue that may be a little bit tricky, but I also like to have the opinion of the player as well.
“Sometimes things can be a little bit mis-communicated and then you get a lot of spin off. Knowing him a bit, I don’t want to overvalue his comments.”
