The London giants are eyeing a surprise move to re-sign Eden Hazard from Real Madrid, with Roman Abramovich still being a huge fan of the attacker. It is believed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich still rates the footballer highly and believes he can regain his confidence with a move back to the PL.
The report further suggests that the Blues have already held informal negotiations with Florentino Perez over the return of Belgium international. Real Madrid themselves are apparently open to letting Hazard go to recoup some of the €115m they had spent two years ago.
It is no secret that Real Madrid are in need of funds as they look to reshape their front-line next summer by bringing in Kylian Mbappe. In addition to the French superstar, they have registered interest in Erling Haaland as well, with the Borussia Dortmund centre-forward ready to cost a fortune.
That is where Los Blancos could consider offloading Eden, who has never really made his mark in Spain after coming from England in 2019. His time at Real Madrid has been marred by injuries and lack of form, with the Belgian forward mustering a total of only over 1,500 minutes of league football in the last couple of campaigns.
In 51 games, Eden has been involved in only 14 goals, which is quite low for a player of his calibre. But that doesn’t deter the Blues, who are intent on adding more offensive reinforcements to the team.
