David Alaba’s agent will hold negotiations with the London club in winter over a potential move to Stamford Bridge. Austria international’s deal with Bayern Munich is ready to expire in the summer of 2021, with agent Pini Zahavi in charge of engineering the defender’s next step in his career.
At 28-years-old, David is still at the top of his game, and you have to think that top clubs around Europe will be keen on securing his signature if he is to leave the Bundesliga club. The London giants are in the battle to sign the centre-back-cum-left-back-cum-midfielder.
PSG are also in the battle, as you would expect with a footballer of his calibre potentially available on a free. Chelsea have already benefited from bolstering their back-line with a Bosman acquisition, with Thiago Silva completing transforming the English manager’s defence.
Signing Alaba would be another huge stride towards Blues reasserting their intent in England and Europe. Only time will tell if their efforts to sign him will prove fruitful. The 28-year-old defender was part of the Bavarians team which beat the French club in last campaign’s UCL final.
Both Real Madrid and Juventus have also recently been linked with a move for the Austrian defender next year. La Liga giants are prioritising the signing of the experienced defender as they look to snap him up for nothing. David’s versatility is hugely appealing to the Bianconeri manager Andrea Pirlo.
Originally one of the top left-backs in Europe, David has developed into a capable centre-back in the past two years for the Bundesliga giants. Alaba has also played in midfield at times for Bundesliga giants.
