The London giants are keen on making a move for Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot, who could be made available for a transfer this summer.
France international came through the youth ranks at PSG and established himself as a regular for club and country before leaving the Parisians in acrimonious circumstances in 2019 after he refused to sign a new deal with the club.
Adrien signed for Juventus on a free transfer but the midfielder has struggled to hit the heights of his Parisian days in Turin. He had been in and out of the lineup last campaign under Maurizio Sarri and even though he has featured more regularly this time out under Andrea Pirlo, Rabiot has not been able to hit the expected heights.
With the Old Lady going through financial difficulties, the club will need to offload some footballers in the summer transfer window as they look to rebuild the squad freshly ahead of the next campaign. ex-Arsenal playmaker Aaron Ramsey is one player who will be allowed to leave, amid interest from Liverpool.
Now, it is being claimed that the 26-year-old midfielder could also be shown the exit doors in the upcoming transfer window, which has piqued the interest of PL giants Chelsea. As things stand, Chelsea have several options in the middle of the park in N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Jorginho and Billy Gilmour.
However, Jorginho continues to flirt with the idea of a possible return to Italy. That coupled with Kante’s recent injury history could warrant the addition of another central midfielder in the ranks at the London club, making the French midfielder a viable transfer target.
