Brighton are closing on the £5m signing of coveted Independiente del Valle midfielder Moises Caicedo after having an offer accepted. Ecuador international from Independiente is due to undergo a medical before committing to the South Coast club after talks intensified on Friday.
Several PL teams had expressed interest in Caicedo. Moises was heavily linked with a move to Man United but the Red Devils opted not to make an offer. Blues also made enquiries, which was a move understood to be favoured by the 19-year-old midfielder, while West Ham United, Everton and Newcastle also opened discussions over a deal.
However, Brighton are the club that pushed to reach an agreement and hope to have the deal finalized this week. The Ecuadorian midfielder has been capped four times already by Ecuador. Brighton have previously negotiated with Independiente for Billy Arce in 2018.

Just after Everton took the lead for Caicedo’s signature, several others have joined the race. The talented midfielder certainly has a plethora of options to choose from now.
Among the latest named in the queue are fellow PL sides West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion, with the Hammers reportedly even making a formal offer of sorts, and Independiente Del Valle evaluating the offer. Blues can still perhaps get a deal done for the promising midfielder.
