Chelsea in the battle to sign No.10 English centre-forward

Chelsea and Man United, along with Man City, have stepped up their efforts to sign Harry Kane in the summer transfer window. The PL heavyweights have approached the 27-year-old centre-forward’s representatives to discuss a potential transfer.

Harry, for the better part of the past half-a-decade, has been one of the best footballers in the game, often scoring goals for fun. During this period, Kane has also won three Golden Boots in the PL, including one in the 2020/21 campaign, wherein he also provided the most assists in the top-flight.

However, despite all the success on an individual level, trophies have often alluded England international, much to his frustration. And, things seemed to have finally reached a head, with widespread reports pointing towards a possible summer exit.

Such a development has piqued the interest of Chelsea and Man United, among others. Blues interest in signing the English striker makes a lot of sense, considering Jorginho was their top scorer in the PL, with each of his goals coming from the penalty spot.

To address such a major issue in his squad, it is hardly surprising that a new centre-forward is a priority for Thomas Tuchel and Roman Abramovich for that matter. To that end, Harry is a viable target for the Blues.

Harry, though, has put discussions over his club future on hold till after the end of England’s UEFA Euro 2020 season. The report, though, does suggest that negotiations between the suitors and Kane’s entourage could be a possibility.

With that in mind, it will be interesting to see how the discussions progress, as Chelsea, Man United and Man City step up their efforts to sign the Tottenham’s goal machine.
