Chelsea in bidding war for €70m-rated English midfielder

Man United and Chelsea will need to fork out £100m to add West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice. England international is already one of the PL’s best footballers and starred for the Three Lions at this summer’s Euros. There is just so much Declan can achieve at the London club, and at 22 is primed to take the next step in his career.

Rice, however, has three years left on his current contract handing the Hammers the advantage when it comes to talks. The Irons are in no mood to sell their prized target on the cheap and will accept nothing short of a king’s ransom to part wats with him.

As per the report, West Ham United have, in fact, not received any bids for the 22-year-old midfielder. The English midfielder is also happy at the club. Chelsea, meanwhile, is intimately familiar with the footballer, having seen him come through their youth ranks.

Rice was, however, released by Chelsea. Declan has come a long way since and would today be welcomed with open arms at the London club. Chelsea are also put off by the Hammers’ asking price, a major reason they are yet to make an offer.

Rice is also close friends with Mason Mount. Teammates for the Three Lions, it stays to be seen if the duo will reunite at the club level. A versatile footballer capable of also playing in the back-line, Declan is a massive talent who could be a star in the years to come.
