Chelsea in bidding war for €35m-rated Croatia international

London club keen on signing Real Madrid midfielder Mateo Kovacic and planning to make a bid during the summer transfer window. Blues have problems in the midfield as Ruben Loftus-Cheek has a severe injury, Danny Drinkwater linked with several clubs, Cesc Fabregas joined Monaco, and they need replacement.

Croatia international is the perfect option in this situation as he had an excellent season and proved his greatness one more time. English club set to spend considerable money on the footballer in July when the transfer window opens again.

Milan, Inter Milan, Roma, Arsenal, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Zenit are also keen to sign him, and there will be a contest for the player. The 25-year-old footballer joined the Los Blancos from Inter Milan in 2015 with a €38m deal.

He has a vast potential and can become a world-class midfielder if he continuous improvement. In this campaign, Croatian star played 51 matches and made two assists in all competition. It is a fantastic result, and he can improve his consequences during the next season.

Mateo has contracted with the Spanish club until 2021, and his release clause is nearly £35m. He is a regular member of the national team squad and also helped them to finish the 2018 Mundial in a second position which is already a significant achievement for the player. Probably Kovacic will accept the correct offer from Chelsea.

Blues will do everything to sign him this July, but it will be difficult as Rossoneri, Nerazzurri, Giallorossi, Gunners, Bavarians, Los Rojiblancos and Lions also preparing to make an offer during the transfer window.
