Chelsea are monitoring the situation of Crystal Palace attacker Wilfried Zaha and could contact the Eagles over a potential deal. Ivory Coast international has been Crystal Palace’s main man but he has been linked with several teams. His deal runs out next June although the club is trying to tie him down to a longer deal.
Zaha needs to be convinced about the sporting project that Selhurst Park has prepared for him. It would be the last opportunity for him to secure Champions League football as Wilfried will be turning 30 next month and no other team will offer another opportunity once he commits to his long-term future with the London club.
The 29-year-old forward’s disappointing stint with Man United hasn’t had a lasting effect on his career as the winger has made his name since his arrival at Crystal Palace. The Eagles are always a frightening side to play with the Ivorian winger leading from the front.
Chelsea could find the chance perfect to hijack the Ivorian from the grasp of the Eagles. Chelsea might choose to agree to a pre-contract in January. If Crystal Palace fails to find an agreement they would be looking to generate some cash by sanctioning his departure.
The African attacker started his career on the wings but with time he has accommodated himself across the front three and is equally comfortable if he is handed the number 9 role. It stays to be seen who wins his signature as the footballer has relished all kinds of roles he has been offered so far.
