Chelsea are set to rekindle their interest in Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele. The 25-year-old attacker has enjoyed a resurgence under coach Xavi but is yet to sign a new contract with the Blaugrana. Ousmane was the subject of interest from the Blues in the winter transfer window, along with PSG, but a move did not materialise.
Chelsea were reportedly leading the battle to add Dembele this summer, but sanctions imposed on Abramovich derailed their pursuit. The Blues are now set to renew their interest in France international, with the Todd Boehly-led consortium set to take over as the new owners.
The Blues are ready to enter the transfer market again following the arrival of new owners and will step up their pursuit of the French attacker. Chelsea are reportedly hopeful that the Frenchman prefers a move to Chelsea, but they are not the only side interested in his signature.
PSG have maintained their interest from January, while Bayern Munich have also entered into discussions with the former Borussia Dortmund winger’s entourage, the report claims. Dembele has been one of the Blaugrana’s best footballers in the second half of the campaign.
Ousmane has taken his tally to two goals and 13 assists across all tournaments. Dembele also leads the La Liga assists chart with one game left to play in the league campaign. Ousmane has played 149 games for the Blaugrana since joining them from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 in a big-money move.
