Real Madrid have set their sights on Jules Kounde, as part of their squad overhaul in the upcoming summer transfer window. It appears the Los Blancos are keen on strengthening their defensive options, with the Sevilla defender now being identified as one of the top targets.
La Liga giants, though, aren’t the just club interested in U21 France international, as both Man United and Chelsea have already enquired about the centre-back’s situation. They are set to launch bids for Kounde in the summer, with the defender also open to a move away from Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan next campaign.
A product of the Bordeaux youth academy, Jules is being considered as the biggest defensive prospect in the market right now, having enjoyed an incredible 2020/21 season at Sevilla, in which the teenager has created a formidable defensive partnership alongside Diego Carlos at the heart of the four-man defence.
The 22-year-old defender has been the standout of the two, mesmerising the onlookers with his quality on the ball, coupled with his blistering pace and defensive skill that has made him a real commodity in the market.
It has also put clubs like the Blues on red alert, as Chelsea hope to sign a long-term replacement for the likes of Cesar Azpilicueta and Thiago Silva next campaign. They have already been linked with a move for PSG star Marquinhos, with head coach Thomas Tuchel reportedly keen on a reunion.
The French defender, though, offers more prospect for the future and is likely to fit in better with the German’s tactical setup, due to his offensive capabilities, as well as the fact that the centre-back is equally strong in the air.
