Chelsea given green light to sign 20-year-old Ecuador international

Chelsea’s new coach Graham Potter would do well to raid his old team Brighton for the transfer of promising young midfielder Moises Caicedo. Though he stresses that there have been no negotiations for Ecuador international so far and that the Seagulls’ project deserves respect.

It could be good for the English manager and Moises to work together again, the transfer news expert is unsure if the Seagulls will be ready to sell the midfielder this winter. Caicedo is going to join a top side very soon and he has openly admitted that he would join the Blues if Chelsea came calling.

The seeds have already been sewn. Brighton lost Yves Bissouma and Marc Cucurella this summer, while Graham Potter recently left them to replace Thomas Tuchel as coach of Chelsea, so losing a talent like the 20-year-old player in the middle of the campaign would be another big blow.

Still, Chelsea could do with bolstering in midfield, and the South American midfielder could be a fantastic long-term option in that position, whilst also being a footballer Graham Potter will know well.

Jorginho, who turns 31 in December, was never particularly mobile at the best of times, while N’Golo Kante has been picking up injury after injury after injury over the past few years.

The London giants had a busy summer bringing in the likes of Raheem Sterling, Wesley Fofana, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, and others, and one imagines their ambitious new owner Todd Boehly could continue to try to invest in the next transfer window.
