Chelsea enter the battle to sign €60m-rated Ligue 1 rising star

The London club are reportedly possible transfer suitors for Stade Rennais midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, rivalling Real Madrid for his signature. And according to a report, Chelsea could have the edge in the race to sign Camavinga, with his agent Jonathan Barnett not keen for his client to move to Spain.

The London giants supporters will no doubt hope their club can end up beating Real Madrid to France international, with the midfielder looking an outstanding prospect. Still only 18 years of age, Eduardo is already quite experienced in Ligue 1 and has three caps for the senior French national team.

Blues are said to be looking at improving their midfield, with the 18-year-old midfielder being eyed as an upgrade on the unconvincing Jorginho. Chelsea fans would surely be happy with that, with the English boss still looking in need of reinforcements despite a summer of big spending.

Erling Haaland has also been linked with the Blues in recent days, and Chelsea really would be signing two of the game’s best young talents if they could bring both those names in. This could be a blow for Real Madrid, with Los Blancos in need of long-term replacements for ageing midfield duo Luka Modric and Toni Kroos.

Blues were top of the PL after 11 matches played, which is quite extraordinary to think now. Frank Lampard’s men, considering how dire their form has been of late, are now clinging on to a spot in the top half of the PL.

The attitude among the Blues board members appears to be that they would rather give Frank Lampard a shot to turn it around, rather than making a knee-jerk decision at this point in time.
