The London giants are among the list of transfer suitors for Villarreal left-back Alfonso Pedraza and Atalanta’s Robin Gosens. Pedraza has a release clause of €35m, and the Blues are interested in him, along with other big clubs such as Barcelona and Inter Milan.
Another potential candidate to make a big European switch is Atalanta defender Robin Gosens. These clubs have been scouting Pedraza heavily, with the view towards a potential summer move for the former Spain Under-21 international.
The Blues already have Ben Chilwell, Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palmieri as options at left-back, but the latter of those two may well be on their way out of the London club after a lack of regular game time.
Pedraza or Gosens could both be the perfect addition to provide Chilwell with more competition for his place in the team, with the Englishman not always entirely convincing in his first campaign in Chelsea.
Pedraza has also been targeted by Brighton in the past, but that move didn’t work out and it now seems he’s on the radar of some even bigger names ahead of this summer.
It has been widely reported that a fee in the region of €30m will be enough to prise Gosens away from Serie A, with the club willing to sell to raise funds during the difficulty the pandemic has placed on teams around Europe.
Emerson has reportedly fallen out of favour at the club, with Thomas Tuchel willing to sell the Italian in the summer with the Bianconeri interested, while Marcus Alonso has rarely featured since the restart with Ben Chilwell favoured on the left hand side of the back-line.
