Chelsea determined to sign 19-year-old English midfielder

Chelsea are now keen to battle Liverpool and Real Madrid for the signature of Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jude Bellingham in the upcoming transfer windows. England international is already a regular for Dortmund and the national team and continues to go from strength to strength.

Despite Liverpool and Real Madrid leading the battle for Bellingham, Todd Boehly and co have reached out to the midfielder’s camp and are seeking to make inroads to further their case.

The new Blues owner is keen to crash the party of last campaign’s UCL finalists and believes his side stands a reasonable chance of making a dent in the transfer battle. Chelsea have shown ambition under the American and went big last summer, bringing in the likes of Sterling, Fofana and Cucurella among others.

One area of the squad that went unaddressed was the midfield. Kante and Jorginho are both in the final year of their deals and have also started to show their age. They will need to be replaced sooner or later if the Blues are serious about challenging for the top.

Liverpool and Real Madrid are ahead of Chelsea in their efforts to land the Englishman and can potentially offer him a better chance at glory. The Blues are still finding their feet under Boehly and are yet to hit their stride. While the American might have big plans, money might not give him the edge in the transfer market all the time.
