Chelsea determined to sign 18-year-old Senegal international

Pape Sarr is facing an uncertain future at the club. It appears Metz is well aware of the interest their midfielder has attracted this campaign, with PL giants Chelsea emerging as a potential destination, along with Nice, Everton and Newcastle United.

Nice are even willing to make a €12m swoop for Senegal international this summer, as the midfielder continues to impress with his consistent displays in Ligue 1 this campaign. A product of Senegal’s footballing factor, Generation Foot, Pape has indeed had a rapid rise to prominence since his transfer to Metz last summer.

Sarr has already played 18 league games so far, emerging as a midfield lynchpin alongside Habib Maiga and Victorien Angban. Still just 18, the Senegalese midfielder has exhibited a composure that is well beyond his years while the teenager is also capable of reading the match and operate in a defensive formation.

The 18-year-old midfielder has the technical prowess to go with it as well, making him the perfect target for Chelsea, who are set for a busy transfer window. Chelsea are widely expected to release their fringe and loan footballers including Ross Barkley, Marko van Ginkel and Bakayoko, as the German boss prepares for a complete overhaul.

In Pape, Thomas Tuchel will find himself a talented midfielder, who is equipped with the perfect amount of technical and tactical knowledge that would help thrive in the PL.

Although the Senegalese midfielder does lack experience at the highest level of football, he can certainly prove to be the perfect competitor for the likes of Jorginho and N’Golo Kante.
