Juventus are reportedly the latest team to show an interest in a potential transfer deal for Milan goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma this summer. Italy international has long been regarded as one of the finest young footballers in world football, and he’d be a fantastic signing for most top clubs if he ends up leaving the Rossoneri.
Gianluigi is heading towards being a free agent this summer and Bianconeri are now looking into raiding their rivals for the shot-stopper. This could be ideal for the Old Lady as Donnarumma would likely be an upgrade on Wojciech Szczesny and the ideal long-term successor to Gianluigi Buffon.
However, the 22-year-old goalkeeper has also been linked with PL giants Chelsea and Man United. It’s not yet clear where the Italian goalkeeper himself might prefer to move, but it would certainly be interesting to see him in English football.
The London club have had their issues in goal in recent times, with recent additions Kepa Arrizabalaga and Edouard Mendy not really working out. Gianluigi could be an upgrade, even if some Blues supporters will feel Mendy deserves more time to prove himself after only joining last summer.
On the other hand, Bianconeri enjoy a relatively amicable relationship with the Italo-Dutch agent, and the two sides could work hand in hand to bring the big man to Juventus.
On the other hand, the Diavolo may have resigned to losing their shot-stopper and already identified his replacement in the form of Lille’s Mike Maignan. The report adds that if Donnarumma ends up joining Juventus, then Wojciech Szczesny will naturally be heading towards the exit door.
