Bundesliga giants in advanced talks with £80,000-a-week Chelsea defender

Barcelona and Bayern Munich are ready to go head-to-head in pursuit of the London giants centre-back Andreas Christensen. Denmark international has been with the Blues for close to ten years now, having joined Chelsea academy in 2012.

It was just after a two-year loan stint at Borussia Monchengladbach between 2015 and 2017 that Andreas got a proper look-in into the senior side at Chelsea, and he has continued to enhance his reputation since.

Christensen has gained greater importance in Chelsea under the German coach, but his time with the Blues could be coming to an end when his deal expires at the end of the ongoing campaign.

Negotiations over a renewed deal for the 25-year-old defender have not yielded the desired result for the Blues, leading to teams lining up to add the centre-back. There have been links to PL rivals Man United and Tottenham, while Barcelona are also strongly interested in securing his services.

The Blaugrana require a defensive reshuffle next summer as Pique enters the final phase of his career. At the same time, Umtiti and Lenglet are expected to move on either this month or at the end of the campaign.

However, Barcelona will have to face competition from Bayern Munich in the race for the Danish defender. The Bundesliga giants are staring at the prospect of losing Sule in the summer when his deal is ready to expire.
