Bayern Munich have reportedly contacted the representatives of Roberto Firmino over a shock transfer. Currently valued at €90m, the 28-year-old centre-forward has done fairly well for Liverpool this campaign so far, netting ten goals and providing 12 assists in 39 games across all tournaments.
Pundit Ian McGarry has said that Bundesliga giants have contacted the representatives of Roberto regarding a transfer over the past few days. He said: “We have accurately and consistently reported that Werner will join Liverpool we believe this summer.
I cannot report anything that I think changes that, although interestingly news is that Bayern Munich has contacted Firmino’s representatives in the last ten days with regards to ‘would he be willing to leave Anfield?
“Would he be interested in a return to the Bundesliga? And would he be interested in becoming part of Bayern’s rebuild? Which of course they have been planning now since the beginning of last season. Roberto may fit in very well as a replacement for Robert Lewandowski who may well move on, potentially to MLS in the summer.”
Roberto has become an integral part of Reds since joining them from Hoffenheim. Provided Robert does leave, Brazil international would be a pretty good addition to Bayern’s squad. The Brazilian centre-forward had a pretty decent spell at Hoffenheim, scoring 49 goals while providing 36 assists in 153 games across all tournaments.
Provided Firmino departs, Merseyside club could replace him by signing someone like Timo Werner who could be suitable for Jurgen Klopp’s style of play. However, any move would depend upon whether the Brazilian centre-forward would want to leave the Merseyside club.
