Bayern Munich eager to sign £90,000-a-week Liverpool attacker

Bayern Munich are currently in negotiations with Georginio Wijnaldum over a possible Bosman move in the summer transfer window. The 30-year-old player is expected to leave Anfield as a free agent, with the Bundesliga champions offering him a three-year contract.

Gini has been one of the most vital cogs in Jurgen Klopp’s squad since joining Liverpool from Newcastle United in the summer of 2016. Such has been Wijnaldum’s impact that he is widely regarded as a modern-day great for Liverpool, having gone on to amass 233 games for the Reds, even chipping in with 22 goals and 16 assists.

However, over the past year or so, it has become clear that the Dutch midfielder is searching for one last adventure in his career and is ready to leave Liverpool as a free agent. While Blaugrana look to be his preferred destination, there are several other clubs vying for the signature of the Dutchman, Bayern Munich being one of them.

The interest from Bavarians makes a great deal of sense considering Javi Martinez will be leaving the club at the end of the campaign while Corentin Tolisso is facing an uncertain future at the Allianz Arena. Therefore, it is not hard to see why Bayern are keen on signing a footballer like Gini, who could bring a lot of experience to the table.

From the Liverpool player’s perspective, joining Bundesliga giants would mean he will be making his way to a stable club that is one of the giants of European football. And, it appears as if Bundesliga giants are quite serious with their interest in the Dutch midfielder, having already begun discussions over a potential deal.
