Conor Gallagher has popped up on the radar of Barcelona over a possible move in a future transfer window. The Chelsea midfielder is currently being closely monitored when on a show for Crystal Palace.
U21 England international joined the famed Blues academy from Epsom Eagles, aged eight, before making rapid progress through the ranks in Chelsea’s youth setup. However, Gallagher is yet to make his first-team debut for the Blues instead of impressing on loan spells away from Chelsea.
And after making his mark at West Bromwich Albion last campaign, Conor is now at Crystal Palace. The English midfielder has started the 2021/22 campaign strongly, quickly establishing himself as a crucial figure for Crystal Palace, with two goals and an assist to show for his efforts in five games.
His exploits do not seem to be going unnoticed, as the Blaugrana have now turned their attention towards the Blues loanee in their search for a youngster.
The Catalan giants are currently scouring the market for a midfielder after allowing Bosnian Miralem Pjanic (on loan) and Spaniard Ilaix Moriba to depart in the summer transfer window without really bringing in anyone to replace the midfielders.
So, while Sergi Roberto will be used extensively in midfield this campaign, Ronald Koeman is still short of options. That means that the first-choice trio of Busquets, Frenkie de Jong and Pedri will once again be shouldering pretty much all of the responsibility in the middle of the park for the Blaugrana.
