The Merseyside giants star Fabinho is reportedly a transfer target for Atletico Madrid as they eye a replacement for Arsenal target Thomas Partey. Ghana international is a summer transfer target for Gunners, and the midfielder is a big name who will need replacing in Diego Simeone’s side.
La Liga giants could turn to Liverpool midfielder Fabinho as a £54m target to fill that void, with the suggestion being that the footballer is not entirely satisfied with the amount of game time he’s had at Merseyside club.
This is a questionable claim given that Brazil international has mostly been a crucial figure of Liverpool in this campaign’s PL title success and last campaign’s UCL victory. Jordan Henderson has revealed he was forced to sit down with the German tactician to discuss his position following the 26-year-old midfielder’s arrival at Anfield.
The Reds skipper is ready to lift the PL trophy in a matter of weeks after captaining the side to glory. Liverpool surely won’t want to sell such a quality footballer, and it looks unlikely they’d be under much pressure to do so as Liverpool is clearly a good place for top footballers to be right now.
Still, with Bayern Munich star Thiago Alcantara being strongly linked with Reds, it may be that the Brazilian will find increased competition for his place next campaign. If Gunners can land a quality player like Thomas and contribute to weakening one of their rivals in the process, they’d surely be pretty happy with that outcome.
