Crystal Palace winger Wilfried Zaha has been told to give 100% commitment to the club until at least the winter transfer window despite links with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea.
The 26-year-old forward’s future dominated headlines for much of the summer as a move to a bigger club looked likely due to heavily rumoured interest from some big names.
Wilfried was linked with the Gunners, while it’s also recently been claimed that the Blues will look to add him in winter as they hope they may be able to get their transfer ban overturned by then.
And it looks implied that a winter move stays a possibility as Eagles centre-back Mamadou Sakho told Zaha in a meeting that he needs to focus on Palace until then. Wilfried also helped his national team to reach the quarter-final in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, but they lost in a penalty shoot-out against Algeria.
Crystal Palace coach Roy Hodgson sent Ivory Coast international home from training a few days ago because his head was not right, leading to footballers then addressing the issue themselves. Last season Wilfried played 30 matches, scored ten goals and provided ten assists in all competitions.
Even if the Ivorian winger is now set to settle his differences at Palace, this admittedly sounds at least a bit hopeful for the Blues if they’re able to add footballers this January, while Gunners will surely still also be keeping an eye on the Zaha’s situation as Arsenal were still keen on him despite also signing Nicolas Pepe in his position.
