The London giants are among several teams mulling over the potentiality of making a swoop for Fulham midfielder Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the summer transfer window. Cameroon international signed for the Cottagers in the summer of 2018 from Marseille and impressed in his debut season in England despite Fulham getting relegated.
Zambo Anguissa spent the last campaign out on loan at Villarreal and did well in Spain, before returning to Craven Cottage in the summer, with Fulham back in the top-flight. Andre-Frank has been one of Scott Parker’s better players this campaign even as they ended up getting relegated yet again.
So far in 2020/21, the 25-year-old midfielder has featured 35 times in all tournaments, registering three assists in the process. An energetic, box-to-box midfielder, the Cameroonian could be sold by the club in the summer for a transfer fee of £20m, alerting several teams, including the Gunners.
Arsenal, after what has been a disappointing season so far, will be eyeing a squad overhaul in the summer, with the midfield being one area where players will be very much in need. Indeed, Dani Ceballos will see his loan deal expire at the end of the campaign while Mohamed Elneny is largely used as a rotation option by the Spanish coach.
With Joe Willock likely to seal a permanent transfer away from Arsenal, Gunners will be left with only Thomas Partey, Granit Xhaka and the aforementioned Elneny as options in the centre of the park, thus warranting the signing of a new midfielder ahead of the next campaign.
