Arsenal started negotiations with No.11 Bundesliga midfielder

The battle to add Florian Grillitsch in a Bosman is hotting up. Hoffenheim midfielder has become an in-demand prospect in the market as he is ready to leave the Bundesliga giants as a free agent at the end of the campaign. Arsenal and Newcastle United are among the teams in contention to sign the 26-year-old midfielder.

But they are now ready to face stiff competition from Lazio, with Maurizio Sarri keen on attaining his services in the new campaign. Florian is rated highly in the Bundesliga due to his reputation as a combative holding midfielder.

Standing at 1.87, Grillitsch is a midfield enforcer whose imposing frame allows him the superiority in physically and aerial duels. Austria international is equally versatile, as the footballer is capable of operating as a centre-back or even as a midfielder if required.

In addition to his defensive qualities, the Austrian midfielder is known for his tactical nous and leadership. With 178 games in the Bundesliga, the Austrian has considerable experience at the highest level of football, thus making the midfielder a perfect target for both Arsenal and Newcastle United.

The Gunners, for one, are currently in the market for midfield reinforcements. Arsenal are indeed short on numbers in the middle of the park, with Partey and Xhaka serving as the only reliable options in the second line of press. Another club in contention to sign the former Werder Bremen midfielder are Newcastle United.
