Arsenal started negotiations with €30m-rated French midfielder

The London giants are already planning many additions next summer, including Boubacar Kamara, on a free transfer from Marseille. U21 France international could be signed to shore up their options in the middle of the pitch.

The Gunners spent considerably in the previous transfer window to add footballers of a specific age profile and positions. All those footballers have been under the age of 23, as they considerably changed their approach in the market.

They waved goodbye to the idea of signing footballers on the cheap due to their value proposition, focusing instead on the long term future of the playing squad. The Spanish manager came under intense scrutiny after bringing Willian Borges on a free transfer last summer.

Brazil international failed to perform and was subsequently shipped out. They also conducted similar deals after Arsene Wenger’s departure, making several bad decisions. However, they have a different approach as Mikel Arteta and Edu would only want players that fit their specificity of talent.

The Gunners are expected to bring in more names in subsequent windows, and it looks they already have sights on some possible additions. His contract with the Olympians expires at the end of the campaign, and there’s no news emerging about a potential renewal.

Boubacar has spent his entire career to date at Marseille and might be thinking of moving to another league. The Gunners are expected to look for a midfielder next summer despite signing Albert Sambi Lokonga this summer, who also is of a similar age.
