Arsenal started negotiations with 21-year-old Serie A winger

The London giants have initiated negotiations with the agents of Juventus winger Dejan Kulusevski as they eye a swoop in the upcoming transfer window. Sweden international has spent his entire senior career in Italy, having first arrived in the country in 2016 when the winger joined the Atalanta youth setup.

While Kulusevski impressed for the club’s Under-17 and Primavera teams, he played only three first-team games. But an excellent stint on loan at Parma in the first half of the 2019/20 campaign was impressive enough for Bianconeri to add Dejan.

Having snapped up the 21-year-old winger, the Old Lady loaned him back to Parma for the rest of the 2019/20 season. The Swedish winger arrived in Juventus at the onset of the last campaign but struggled to make a major impact under then-coach Andrea Pirlo, who often tinkered with attacker’s positions.

Dejan’s situation has hardly improved in the new season, with Massimiliano Allegri barely affording him starting chances this campaign. Indeed, of his 18 games in all tournaments in 2021/22, only three have come from the start, leading to question marks over his future at Juventus.

Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked heavily with a winter swoop for Kulusevski, and it looks like the former have made their first move to try and lure him to the Emirates Stadium come to the winter transfer window.

The Gunners have numerous options in their front-line, with Saka, Smith Rowe, Pepe, Martinelli all capable of playing out wide while captain Aubameyang can also slot on the left wing if need be.
