Arsenal started negotiations with 19-year-old talented centre-forward

London club are closely monitoring two RB Salzburg stars Erling Braut Haaland and Dominik Szoboszlai. Haaland became an instant star on Tuesday night after becoming the third-youngest footballer to score a hat-trick in the Champions League.

Norway international has already bagged 17 goals in all tournaments this campaign and is quickly becoming the most converted young goalscorer in the world. Gunners are tracking Erling and his partner Szoboszlai, who also scored in the 6-2 victory over Genk.

London club approached Salzburg about signing Dominik during the summer transfer window. The offer was to sign Szoboszlai at the end of the coming campaign so the midfielder could continue to gain experience with Salzburg. The 18-year-old Hungarian midfielder is wanted by a host of clubs, including Serie A club Inter and Juventus.

Gunners are hopeful their early contact with Austrian club will help position them as the frontrunners for Szoboszlai. However, Arsenal are not plotting a formal offer just yet for Dominik or Haaland and will wait to see how their young stars perform this campaign.

London club representatives have been extensively scouting the Austrian Bundesliga after Naby Keita and Sadio Mane were plucked from the league. Norwegian striker started this season fantastically as he already played nine games, scored 17 goals and provided five assists in all competitions.

He has contracted with Salzburg until 2023, and his release clause is around €20m. The 19-year-old centre-forward also named in the national team squad several times which is already a big success for the footballer. Arsenal signed several players past summer like Nicolas Pepe, Kieran Tierney, David Luiz and Gabriel Martinelli.
