Arsenal started negotiations with 17-year-old promising forward

Arsenal and Chelsea are reportedly monitoring Belgian attacker Jeremy Doku who currently plays for Anderlecht. U21 Belgium international made his senior debut for the club last campaign after spending six years in their youth setup. In 2019/20, Jeremy has received some game time so far, making nine appearances across all tournaments.

However, Doku is yet to net a goal for the senior club. The youngster has also represented Belgium in youth levels, featuring for the U15, U16 and U17 teams. The 17-year-old winger currently plays for the U21 side, having made two appearances for them last month.

Gunners and Blues are keeping close tabs on Belgian starlet who is valued at €5m. Jeremy’s current contract at Anderlecht expires in 2021, and the Belgian giants might prefer to tie him down to a new deal as he is one to look out for in the future. He has a vast potential and can become a top-class winger if he continuous improvement.

Chelsea and Arsenal are undoubtedly two clubs very few can resist joining, but Doku will have a hard time getting into the playing XI in both London clubs. Blues current forward options have left Christian Pulisic on the bench while the Gunners have several quality wingers in their squad.

Hence, if Jeremy joins any of the two Premier League giants, he’ll most likely be in the youth or reserve teams. So it will be best for Doku to remain at Anderlecht at least for now. Arsenal signed Nicolas Pepe, Dani Ceballos, Gabriel Martinelli, Kieran Tierney, David Luiz and William Saliba during the summer transfer window.
