Gunners and Man United are reportedly among the clubs who have been offered the opportunity to sign RB Leipzig forward Emil Forsberg for only €20m in this summer’s transfer window. The 28-year-old winger has shone for much of his time with Leipzig but has recently found himself out of favour with coach Julian Nagelsmann.
This has led to speculation that Emil could now be on his way out of the Bundesliga club, with the Premier League a possible next destination for him. Forsberg has been offered to the Red Devils and Arsenal, as well as to Tottenham, Leicester City and Everton. Emil is a regular member of the national team and also played in the 2018 World Cup.
It stays to be seen if any of these clubs will take a chance on Sweden international, but he does seem to have the potential to be a quality signing on the cheap. Man United still need to improve their front-line after a tough campaign, with the Swedish forward likely an upgrade on someone like Jesse Lingard in the final third.
The London club, meanwhile, have Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang approaching the final year of his deal, while Nicolas Pepe has been slow to settle in his first campaign at the Emirates Stadium, so they could perhaps do with another wide-forward coming in. Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen the front-line during the summer transfer window.
Arsenal strongly linked with RB Leipzig centre-back Dayot Upamecano, Bayer Leverkusen defender Jonathan Tah, Real Madrid playmaker Isco, Atletico Madrid midfielder Thomas Partey, Valencia forward Carlos Soler, Gent starlet Jonathan David and Le Havre youngster Pape Gueye.
