Philippe Coutinho insists he ‘hasn’t thought about’ his future, despite reports linking him to the London giants. The 28-year-old playmaker is gearing up for the UCL final on Sunday, which will be the final game he plays for the Bundesliga giants.
Bavarians who face PSG in the final opted against signing Philippe on a permanent basis and his parent club Blaugrana, who he scored twice against in the quarter-finals, intend to offload him. Gunners are thought to be one of the most interesting clubs and a PL come back is said to appeal to Coutinho.
But Brazil international insists he is purely focused on the task at hand, with UCL glory in his sights. ‘My mind is fully focused on the competition. It’s a unique opportunity for us. I’m very happy to be in the Champions League final,’ he said.
‘On my future, I haven’t thought about it because I’m only thinking about the final.’ ‘We are coming up against a great side,’ added the Brazilian playmaker. ‘We (Neymar and Coutinho) haven’t spoken yet because of the match. I’m sure he is focused on his team and me on mine.’
‘They also have a solid defence. It’ll be a great match, a great final.’ Reds legend John Barnes thinks Gunners are the ‘best fit’ for the attacker. ‘It is an exciting watch with what is going to happen with Philippe Coutinho this summer, they are many teams that are wanting to sign him,’ John said ahead of Bavarians semi-final clash with Lyon.’
