Arsenal preparing long-term contract for €70m-rated centre-forward

London club are prepared to offer a new deal to centre-forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang. Gabon international has become a crucial asset in Gunners squad and has been consistent in the side for the past two campaign. Since his £56m move deal from Dortmund, he has impressed the Arsenal and is now looking to be reward with a new contract.

Pierre-Emerick already earns in the region of £200-000-per-week. Aubameyang has already scored seven goals this campaign for the London club and the joint winner of the Premier League’s Golden Boot last campaign along with Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane. The African trio tallied 22 goals each.

The 30-year-old striker joined the Gunners back in winter 2018 for £56m and was brought in to compete alongside French centre-forward Alexandre Lacazette. The big-money transfer is paying off for Arsenal, scoring ten goals in 12 games and then went to have his best season in 2018/19 with 22 goals in 30 matches.

All of this promotes competitive spirit with partner Lacazette, who is not quite as clinical in the goalscoring department as the Gabonese centre-forward but still a threat. The French striker managed 14 goals in 32 games during the 2017/18 campaign and 13 goals in 35 matches last year.

The fruitful relationship that the two Gunners striker have together has rubbed off on the pitch. Having this sort of relationship with his partners will encourage Auba to remain at the London club for a long time. Having top players around him in the form of Lacazette, it’s an added incentive to help fire Gunners back into the Champions League.
