Aaron Ramsey is closing in on his move back to England after a disappointing spell in Italy. Wales international is expected to be offloaded by Juventus in the summer, with his former club Gunners quite sensationally leading the battle to secure his services.
Arsenal, though, are joined by fellow London clubs in West Ham United and Crystal Palace in the pursuit of Aaron. It appears the teams have been attracted by Ramsey’s experience in the PL, as well as the fact that the midfielder is unlikely to cost a fortune.
It appeals to the London club in particular, as they are in the market for a new attacker after losing Martin Odegaard back to Real Madrid. La Liga giants have reportedly slapped a €60m tag on their star attacker, which is unrealistic for the Gunners in the current financial climate.
Mikel Arteta had ready his sights on Emiliano Buendia as the desired alternative, but the Norwich City attacker opted to move to Aston Villa. The club has now most recently been linked with a move for Nabil Fekir.
However, one would imagine that the Gunners will be inclined more towards the re-acquisition of the Welsh attacker for multiple reasons. A product of the Cardiff City youth academy, the Welshman played for Arsenal for 11 years before moving to Juventus in 2019.
Aaron has featured in 371 competitive matches for the Gunners throughout his career, scoring 65 goals while also racking up a similar number of assists. His time at Juventus, though, has been extremely underwhelming, with the attacker often struggling with a lack of game-time.
