Gunners and Red Devils have reportedly been given a clear message from Wolves regarding a possible transfer deal for Raul Jimenez. The 28-year-old centre-forward, rated at nearly £80m and wanted by the likes of Arsenal, Man United and Real Madrid, is seemingly not for sale.
The report states Wolves have issued a hands-off warning regarding Raul, who has enjoyed a fantastic campaign in the PL, looking like one of the finest all-round strikers in the division. Gunners would do well to add Jimenez if they can, with top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang approaching the final year of his deal at the London club.
Mexico international’s form has helped Wolves chase a European place, though that is now, of course, all up in the air as the campaign has had to be postponed due to the coronavirus crisis. Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen the front-line during the summer transfer window.
It stays to be seen when playing can resume, but it looks clear the Mexican centre-forward is going to continue to be a thorn in defenders’ sides when everyone can get back on the pitch. Arsenal signed Pablo Mari from Flamengo and Cedric Soares from Southampton during the winter transfer window.
Red Devils could do with a centre-forward like him in their ranks, though it might be less of an urgent priority now that Odion Ighalo has impressed whilst on loan at the Theatre of Dreams, while the extra time off means Marcus Rashford will be that bit closer to regaining full fitness.
