Joan Jordan has poured cold water on rumours linking him with the London giants and insists he’s ‘delighted’ to be playing for ‘spectacular club’ Sevilla.
Gunners prioritized bolstering their options in attacking midfield after missing out on Lyon’s Houssem Aouar in the summer transfer window and the 26-year-old midfielder was placed on a shortlist of winter targets, along with Isco, Marcel Sabitzer, Emiliano Buendia and Martin Odegaard.
Arsenal left it late but managed to put the finishing touches on a loan deal with Real Madrid for Odegaard before the deadline and the Norwegian has since made two substitute appearances with Man United and Aston Villa.
The Spanish boss has made it clear he would be open to making Odegaard’s deal permanent if the loan is successful but it looks Los Blancos and Zizou are keen for their footballer to come back for good at the end of the season.
And while Gunners may be tempted to step up their interest in Joan once again in the summer, it appears the player has no plans to move on from Sevilla any time soon. ‘I do not see myself outside of Sevilla, at all,’ Jordan said.
‘And it is reality. The second year in Eibar I did see certain reasons to go away, but now I am in a spectacular club, with ambition, with demand and that is what my body asks for. It is the ideal place to keep improving and do great things club. I am delighted to be here and my mind is here.’
