Gunners and Reds are tracking the progress of Eintracht Frankfurt defender Evan N’Dicka, but face many contests from across Europe for the centre-back. U21 France international moved to Germany from Auxerre in the summer of 2018 for nearly £5m and has played regularly in the Bundesliga since then, already amassing over 42 league games.
Evan who can also be deployed at left-back, with a commanding presence, N’Dicka is 6ft 4in and has represented France at every youth level from Under-16 to Under-21. Unsurprisingly, he has attracted attention across the Europe and Arsenal, Liverpool, Valencia, Sevilla, and Inter Milan have all been keeping a close eye on his progress.
Arsenal’s problems at centre-back have been well documented in recent campaigns, with the likes of Mustafi, Luiz and Sokratis all struggling to turn in displays of the required standard regularly. Rob Holding and Calum Chambers are other options for the boss, while he also signed Pablo Mari on loan from Flamengo in winter.
Arsenal are certainly not short of centre-backs, but they lack quality central defenders, as they also await the permanent arrival of William Saliba in the summer. Reds may be in the market for a new defender in the summer with Dejan Lovren possibly set to leave the club as first-team chances become all the rarer for the Croatian.
The 30-year-old centre-back has played only nine Premier League games this campaign and finds himself down the pecking order, behind Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and often Joel Matip as well. His contract at Anfield expires in 2021, and the club may want to cash in on him while they can.
