Arsenal join the race to sign €25m-rated Netherlands international

Gunners and Merseyside club are both being linked with a move for Ajax forward Quincy Promes. The Netherlands international has been on fire for the Jews since joining from Sevilla this summer.  Quincy is contracted to the Eredivisie giants until 2024.

Given Promes’s fantastic displays in the Champions League, it’s not surprising to see him tipped for a move away. The 27-year-old winger opened the door to a move to the Premier League recently. Dutch winger replied “To me, if I have an opportunity, maybe in the future,” when quizzed on a potential move to Premier League.

Quincy has three goals and an assist in four Champions League games so far this campaign. Two of those goals came with Chelsea. Promes’ fine form has also seen him develop into a more integral footballer within Ronald Koeman’s Netherlands side. He became an unchanged figure for the national team, which is a big achievement for the winger.

The prolific attacker has 40 caps for his country, and for England fans’ sake hopefully, he doesn’t take his sensational form into Euro 2020 next summer. Gunners could do with experienced options on the wings following the exits of Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck this summer.

Jurgen Klopp should also keep his eye on the Dutch winger as he could prove to be a wonderful backup to superstars Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah. Arsenal heavily linked with Juventus centre-back Merih Demiral, Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, Bayer Leverkusen playmaker Kai Havertz and Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.
