Arsenal join the race to sign 21-year-old Ligue 1 centre-forward

Lille striker Victor Osimhen is still hoping for a PL offer from Gunners or Red Devils. Nigeria international is stalling on a potential move to Napoli as a result. The Italian giants are trying to complete a deal for Victor, inviting him to visit their facilities this week and showing him around the city.

They’re still trying to convince him to accept the move, as Osimhen isn’t sure about playing in Serie A. Instead, he’s hoping he could possibly replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Arsenal if the London club’s centre-forward leaves this summer.

But with little progress on that front, the 21-year-old centre-forward is promising to give the Naples an answer by Tuesday. It’s hard to imagine the London giants making a major bid before then. Though they could at least inform him of whether they plan to or not.

Lille manager Christophe Galtier claimed in June he already knew the Nigerian centre-forward was leaving. It was just a matter of figuring out the destination. The 21-year-old striker scored 18 goals and assisted six before French football’s suspension.

Osimhen has been touted to join the Partenopei with reports suggesting he has travelled to the Campania capital and has met with the club president Aurelio De Laurentiis as well as manager Gennaro Gattuso.

Victor’s transfer to the Italian club is believed to be accelerated by the rumoured departure of Polish centre-forward Arkadiusz Milik who is wanted by Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur.

The 26-year-old striker arrived at the San Paolo in 2016, but his time has been hindered by many injury problems. Milik has still been able to play 114 games in all tournaments, scoring 47 goals and providing five assists.
