Andre Silva is the subject of interest from the London giants over a move in the summer transfer window. The PL heavyweights have identified the 25-year-old centre-forward as a possible replacement for Alexandre Lacazette.
Andre burst onto the scene in senior football at Porto back in 2015, when he was regarded as one of the most talented young centre-forwards in Europe. However, Silva has taken some time to start fulfilling his immense potential, having struggled to make an impression at Milan before finally kicking on at Eintracht Frankfurt.
This campaign, in particular, Portugal international has been firing on all cylinders, with 20 goals and 5 assists in only 23 games across all tournaments. His progress in Germany seems to have been noted, with recent links with Man United emerging. And now, Gunners have also turned their attention towards the Portuguese centre-forward.
As things stand, the Spanish coach has several centre-forwards at his disposal, including this campaign’s top scorer Alexandre Lacazette and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, apart from options like Gabriel Martinelli and Eddie Nketiah.
However, Alexandre’s future at the Emirates Stadium is uncertain, with recent reports suggesting that he is ready to depart Arsenal in the summer.
In addition, Nketiah continues to be linked with a move away from Gunners, who are reported to have been open to cashing in on him this summer. That then leaves Aubameyang and Martinelli as the only other options for Mikel, who has majorly utilized the duo out wide during his tenure. Andre Silva is, therefore, a viable target for Arsenal.
