The likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United now know how much they will have to shell out to land Patson Daka in the summer transfer window. The 22-year-old centre-forward, who is viewed as an alternative for Erling Haaland, is available for a mere £17m price.
Patson has taken Austrian football by storm since bursting out of the shadows of Erling Haaland post the Norwegian striker’s move to Borussia Dortmund in winter 2020. And, in the ongoing season, in particular, Haaland has been simply phenomenal, with a return of 30 goals and 8 assists in only 32 games across all tournaments.
Suffice to say, Daka has duly been noticed by some of the biggest teams in the world, with a lot of interest coming from the PL in the form of Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United. And, following his 11-minute hat-trick this past weekend, the aforementioned trio look to be set to step up their efforts to land him.
The interest from the Gunners is not one-bit surprising, considering Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is facing an uncertain future at the club. With Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah also touted to be ready to depart Arsenal in the summer, the London giants seem to have an urgent need to sign a centre-forward.
As for Liverpool, there are growing murmurs over a potential sale of Roberto Firmino, who is the subject of interest from Atletico Madrid. While there have been links with ex-striker Luis Suarez, Daka would be a long-term solution for the Reds, with his eye for a goal coming in handy for a side that has blown hot and cold in the final third this term.
