The London giants are one of over 10 teams that are interested in signing Reading playmaker Michael Olise. There’s also PL interest in U18 France international from Wolves and Leeds United. Michael, who has recently spent time in Chelsea and Man City’s academy, experienced his first run of matches for Reading towards the end of the 18/19 season.
Olise followed that up with a breakthrough season last time out, playing 23 first-team games and bagging two assists. The 18-year-old playmaker is contracted until the summer of 2022, with there’s no concrete interest in the attacker, with clubs more so tracking the youngster.
The French youngster can play as a winger on either flank, as a playmaker or even in a traditional role in the middle of the park. Gunners have a fantastic track record when it comes to developing French talent, so it’s no surprise to see that the London giants are one of the clubs that are keeping an eye on Michael.
As talented as Olise is, this definitely shouldn’t be a priority addition in the future as the London giants would be better served to develop their own playmaker talents like Joe Willock, Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson to name a few.
Despite his age, the attacker has already been provided with 29 appearances in the Royals first team, 24 of which have come in the league. With only two years remaining on his deal, Reading may be open to maximising the price that they receive for his signature.
