Arsenal in the hunt to sign €30m-rated Sweden international

Arsenal may still be considering a move for Alexander Isak, valued at €70m by Real Sociedad. The 22-year-old centre-forward was strongly linked with a move to Arsenal in winter, but the London giants baulked at his €90m valuation.

The Gunners continue to be linked with several centre-forwards in the market, as the Spanish manager stays keen to bolster his attack. Isak’s name has surfaced as the Spanish media continues linking the centre-forward to Arsenal.

Alexander market has been tricky this summer, with the main names coming at a premium price. Keeping aside Haaland, who had a release clause, Nunez has cost about €100m as Liverpool nicked the Uruguayan centre-forward from Benfica.

There are a few centre-forwards in the same profile as the duo, all of which are set to cost huge fees. Gianluca Scamacca is one of the cheapest options compared to the rest, and then there is Sweden international, who continues to be linked with many teams, including the Gunners.

The Swedish centre-forward had a productive campaign in La Liga, but his returns may not validate Real Sociedad’s asking price. La Liga giants are seeking €70m, which is somewhat lower than their January tag of €90m and below his release clause.

The Gunners are unlikely to pay the price, although Sweden international’s profile could be tempting for the club. They have been credibly linked with a tall forward who could give them a presence in the box.
