The London giants are interested in sealing the transfer of Kasimpasa forward Atto Abbas. The 21-year-old winger is not exactly the biggest name on the market right now, but the Gunners are likely to have to pursue cheaper deals this summer due to the financial impact of the covid19 pandemic.
Atto is a hugely talented teenager who has impressed in his time in Turkey, and he’s expected soon to earn a call-up to the senior Nigerian national team. Gunners have recently stepped up their interest in the versatile attacker, who can play on either flank, as a centre-forward, or behind the main forward in a No.10 role.
Arsenal could do well to win the race for this signing before other top clubs, with RB Leipzig also tracking his progress at the moment. A source close to the footballer said that there is “serious interest” from Gunners and that there is hope a deal could be agreed soon.
Gunners have a history of finding some of the best teenagers in world football and have recently improved their recruitment by finding some top prospects such as Matteo Guendouzi, Gabriel Martinelli and William Saliba. Arsenal fans will hope Atto can be the next to get a move to London club and fulfil his possible in Mikel Arteta’s side.
The Spanish manager is also reported to be on the lookout for a new defender that would allow Bukayo Saka to flourish in his favourite position on the wing with Ajax’s Nicolas Tagliafico said to be a £20m target.
