Arsenal in pole position to sign €35m-rated Italian midfielder

Arsenal stay on the heels of Manuel Locatelli as they plot an ambitious winter move for the Juventus midfielder. The 24-year-old midfielder’s future at the Bianconeri stays uncertain, with the Gunners manager still keen on bringing him to Arsenal and bolstering the squad.

Locatelli’s future at Juventus hangs by a thread as he stays outside Massimiliano Allegri’s immediate plans. Despite playing healthy minutes this campaign, Manuel is yet to cement a place in the starting lineup as the club evaluates the futures of several footballers and staff.

The Old Lady have endured a terrible start to their season domestically and in Europe. The recent loss to Maccabi Haifa in the Champions League raised questions about Allegri’s immediate future. Still, the club president reiterated his stance over keeping the manager and instead blamed several footballers who remained unnamed.

Italy international could be one of those, and the club might be open to offers. The Gunners’ interest goes way back to the summer of 2021 when they made several approaches to sign the Italian midfielder. The Italian eventually signed for the Bianconeri on an initial two-year loan with an obligation to purchase for nearly €40m.

It may still take at least €40m to tempt the Old Lady to consider an approach, which may well be within Arsenal’s reach. Mikel Arteta has engineered the club to their best start to a PL season, and adding the likes of Manuel Locatelli would aid in their bid for the title.
