The London giants reportedly seem to have been handed a possibly huge boost following recent transfer links with Inter Milan playmaker Christian Eriksen. The 28-year-old playmaker has been offered to Arsenal in a tempting cut-price deal this winter and he looks like the perfect replacement for the out-of-favor Mesut Ozil.
Gunners would surely benefit from landing Christian at the moment after their terrible start to the campaign, with Arsenal very clearly lacking enough spark and creativity going forward. Arsenal may therefore be pleased to hear that Jose Mourinho looks to have made a firm decision not to bring Eriksen back to Tottenham.
This could clear the way for the Gunners to get a deal done, and the Spanish tactician would be well-advised to try for Denmark international or another similar footballer this winter.
Gunners have also been linked with RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai in that area of the pitch, though they note that Arsenal may favour a more experienced footballer.
It’s not often that proven and experienced players as good as the Danish playmaker are available on the cheap in the middle of the campaign, so this looks like too good a chance for the Gunners not to take.
Some inside the club may be concerned, however, that Spurs are not interested in bringing Eriksen back to the club despite his years of great service there, suggesting perhaps that his struggles at Inter Milan may be the beginning of a long-term decline.
