Gunners have tabled a €20m bid to secure the signature of Lucas Vasquez from Real Madrid when the transfer window reopens in winter. Arsenal will face stiff competition from Bayer 04 Leverkusen and AS Roma in pursuit of Spain international during the transfer window.
It is believed that Lucas has had a fall out with his coach Zinedine Zidane after he found himself on the fringes of the Los Blancos squad behind the likes of Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo. Hence, Vazquez will likely be desperate to part ways with the Spanish giants in search of more game time this January.
The 28-year-old winger has just played eight games for La Liga giants this term, scoring one goal in the process across all tournaments. He is a product of the Los Blancos youth system and has previously won the UEFA Champions League three times with his boyhood club.
The Spanish forward has also secured nine international caps for the Furia Roja but is yet to register a goal for his country. Lucas has swift feet which help him get past his marker down the wide areas. He is primarily a right-sided wide winger who can stretch the pitch for his side by getting to the by-line.
Vazquez can also play some neat passes with others around him but often fails to come up with the finishing touch in the final third. For a footballer of the Spaniard’s talents, he should score more goals going forward. However, he has failed to break into the world-class bracket during his time at Real Madrid.
