Arsenal are ready to challenge Real Madrid to land Chelsea star David Luiz in the January transfer window, according to stories.
The future of Luiz has become the source of speculation after a falling out with Blues head coach Antonio Conte earlier this campaign. Coupled with the experience he has just 18 months left on his deal, there are claims Chelsea could be open to selling him in January.
The Daily Star reports that Arsene Wenger, knows that he needs to reinforce his defence with Per Mertesacker leaving the club in the summer, is considering a £30million offer.
If Arsenal shows serious interest, they could get themselves up against Real Madrid who have also been linked with the South American. As have Bayern Munich and Juventus.
Meanwhile, The Telegraph suggest that Luiz is desperately seeking to recover from a knee damage that Antonio Conte has described as ‘serious’.A
The 30-year-old feels he could be set to start running properly this week which could let him return to the game during the January transfer window.
If he does so, he will give himself a better opportunity of finding a new team if a move is to happen.
