Arsenal held negotiations with 22-year-old Serbia international

Los Blancos are reportedly willing to listen to offers for Gunners target Luka Jovic this summer. Serbia international has endured a disappointing debut campaign at Real Madrid, scoring only twice in 25 matches in all tournaments. Luka is now unlikely to be available for La Liga giants clash against Alaves on Friday night.

Luka who penned a six-year contract with Real Madrid when he joined from Eintracht Frankfurt last summer now seems to be on the move again. The front page of Spanish newspaper Marca states that Los Blancos are unconvinced about his long-term future and are set to cut ties with the £53m forward.

It had been speculated that Spaniard earmarked the Serbian striker as a potential replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at Emirates. But Arsenal face contest from Milan in the race to prise the 22-year-old striker away from Madrid. Luka may have already played his last game for Zizou after being forced to go into self-isolation.

The friend of the centre-forward who he has been in contact with has tested positive for covid-19. While his own test came back negative, the striker has been forced to undergo a period of self-isolation and has not been at training for the last two days.

Luka had previously been warned by former manager Dragoslav Stepanovic that he is ruining his career after breaking quarantine rules in March to fly to Serbia to visit his girlfriend. The couple is currently expecting their first child together later this year.
