Arsenal given green light to sign No.7 England international

Man City winger Raheem Sterling has decided to hold off on talks over a new deal with the PL giants until after England’s international games in June. England international is a summer transfer target for Arsenal and Tottenham.

Raheem has been with Man City since 2015, having arrived from arch-rivals Liverpool. During his seven-year stay at Man City, Sterling has grown into one of the best forwards in England and Europe.

The 27-year-old winger has enjoyed a productive 2021/22 season, during which he has racked up a tally of 17 goals and eight assists from 46 games in all tournaments. However, the English attacker will be entering the final year of his deal with Man City at the end of the campaign.

That, coupled with the recent acquisition of Haaland and Guardiola’s reluctance to use him regularly in big games, has led to question marks over his future, with Arsenal and Tottenham waiting to pounce.

The Gunners are in the market for a wide-forward heading into the next campaign as the Spanish manager desires to add more quality to his front-line. Pepe has severely underperformed over the past couple of campaigns and is likely to depart in the summer, creating a vacancy that the Englishman can fill.

The report states that the former Liverpool winger is not entirely happy with his situation at Man City but remains strongly committed to the club. And Raheem Sterling will hold negotiations over a possible new contract, but only after England’s Nations League games in June are out of the way.
