Arsenal enter the battle to sign 24-year-old French attacker

Arsenal are prepared to get their chequebook out this summer as they look to add RB Leipzig attacker Christopher Nkunku. The 24-year-old attacker is also on the shopping list of Arsenal’s PL rivals, Liverpool and Man United.

A product of the PSG youth setup, Christopher left the Parisians for the Bundesliga giants in 2019 in search of regular playing time. And the move has paid off big time for Nkunku, who has developed into one of the most exciting attacking midfielders in Europe over the past three years.

France international enjoyed his best-ever season in 2021/22, as he amassed 35 goals and 19 assists from 50 games in all tournaments. The French attacker was named the Bundesliga Player of the Season, while he also broke into the national team earlier this year.

The Frenchman’s rise to superstardom has led to serious interest from top teams around Europe, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Man United among the teams keen. Primarily an attacking midfielder, Christopher has shown great adaptability and versatility during his time in RB Leipzig.

Nkunku has often played out wide and excelled but showcased a whole new side to his game this past campaign when deployed as a centre-forward or a secondary striker.

His performances in the No.9 position have led to Arsenal taking a keen interest in the RB Leipzig attacker. Nkunku can be an option in the striker role, while he could also replace the exit-bound Pepe and add depth out wide.
